awsome! i am going to make some of these for my horses! I hope they love them!
My horses LOVE these treats!! I suggest adding a couple teaspoons of water if the dough won’t stick together.
I made these a few days ago and the horses loved them! Good cookies. Me and my coach gave them a shot as well, and I must say, tasty. Oh to see Filly’s face as we ate her cookies in front of her 😛 adorable.
Thanks for the recipe.
Yummy, my guy will love them.
Oatmeal Carrot Crunchies were so easy to make. I doubled the recipe on my first try and took them to the barn last night. The horses LOVED them. I plan on making a triple batch this weekend.
I currently don’t own a horse but I have one on a 2 week trial. I’m happy to say that he loved these cookies too!
Cool!!
Easy to make. A big hit at our barn! Even the picky horses (if there is such a thing) loved them!
My daughter made the recipe and was eating it before it was baked. She really liked it. Now we will head to the barn and see if the horses like it as much.
My horse loved the cookies, he chased us all around trying to take the empty bowl away from us. Guess what? the dogs loved them too.
Every one at the barn wants the recipe.
I did need to add a little water to make them stick together.
What is a healthy substitution for molasses? Can honey be used?
Hey i was just wondering, can you have a substitution for molassess?
The horses at my barn LOVED these! I found the cookies stuck together better when you shredded the carrots with a cheese grater rather than just chopping them.
The horses at our barn could not get enough of these treats. I also used the shredded carrots they seem to work better, and I also had to add a few teaspoons of water. My horses LOVE the treats
Great article! These treats look delicious and healthy too, plus it’s using basic ingredients that aren’t hard to find. Thanks!

I am making these for my horse that is being shipped up from florida! I hope he likes his “Welcome Home” gift!
I just made these treats the other day and my pony loves ’em! In fact, when I let her out to pasture all the other horses were sniffing her muzzle! lol
Mm, those sound good!
Amazing treats my 3 drafts and 1 pony all love them, I did however use a little more oil than it said to get them to stick together better!
I am planning on making these plus the other treats for Christmas gifts, for my friend’s horses.
will have to try
These are easy to make, but I found I had to add a little more oil and molasses to make the mixture hold together.
can you give horses flour I was always told that they weren’t able to digest it or is it ok when its in something?
Purina quit making the carrot and oat treats and on Amazon, the seller wanted too shipping so this sounds even better and no preservatives! Thanks for sharing!??
If you are worried about flour, just take some dry oatmeal and run it through a food processor… VOILA! instant flour! I do it this way so I don’t have to use processed junk in my horse treats! It works great!
Made them today and they came out great!
Horses loved them.
I just used extra oats to bind and not flour and they came out great!
Thanks for the receipe
Made them as a Christmas treat for the donkeys and Tia the pony – they went down incredibly well! They were great for hiding Tia’s pills in. Bart the donkey really enjoyed as seen by him constantly sticking his tongue out and licking his lips as he savoured every bite. I’ll certainly make more for special occasions
