Saddle Up LA raises funds for HIV/AIDS research

A unique trail ride takes place on June 14 in the Griffith Park Mountains above Los Angeles when The Life Group L.A. hosts its third annual “Saddle Up L.A.,” a benefit ride and country BBQ that honors those who have died of AIDS and those living with HIV. The ride also raises awareness of AIDS and helps raise much needed funds for the HIV services provided by The Life Group L.A.

Founded in 2005, The Life Group L.A. is a non-profit organization that provides education, empowerment and emotional support to persons infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, and helps people make informed choices regarding their health care and general well being.

Ride participants can bring their own horses; additionally, 75 horses are being made available on a first come, first reserved basis. The two-hour ride, with trails suitable for riders of any experience level, will weave through the beautiful tree-lined equestrian trails and paths of historic Griffith Park. With more than 4,210 acres of both natural chaparral-covered terrain and landscaped parkland and picnic areas, Griffith Park is the largest municipal park with urban wilderness area in the United States.
