Nominations are now being accepted for the 2007 American Riding Instructor Association (ARIA) awards, which will be presented at the National Riding Instructors Convention, during the awards luncheon on Dec. 4, 2007, at the Naples Grande Resort in Naples, Fla. The Top 50 Instructors for 2007, who have already been named and who are listed at www.riding-instructor.com, will also be honored.
The deadline for nominations is on or before Oct. 23, 2007.
All nominations must be submitted by e-mail (preferred), post or courier, and must include a nomination letter explaining the reasons the person and/or horse should be honored. Send nominations to riding-instructor@comcast.net or mail to ARIA, 28801 Trenton Court, Bonita Springs, FL 34134. And don’t be shy. Self-nominations are accepted and encouraged.
Wondering just what to submit? Nominations must include at least 2 high-quality photographs of the person or horse that are suitable for publication and must include a photographer’s release if not taken by the sender.
Keep in mind that ARIA membership is required for nominees, and there are some specific timeframes for various awards. That’s to understandably prevent last minute subscribers from swooping in just for awards. Award categories include Instructor of the Year, School Horse of the Year and Volunteer of the Year. We can’t forget those volunteers, the unsung heroes, can we?
