The Abaco Barb (sometimes called the Abaco Wild Horse) was a rare breed that survived for generations in the Bahamas until its recent extinction. These horses were believed to be direct descendants of horses brought over by early Spanish explorers. When this video was taken, only five individuals remained from a herd that once numbered around 200 on the island of Great Abaco.
