Edited Press Release

This month, Riders4Helmets.com, the popular helmet awareness campaign, is celebrating its four-year anniversary of educating equestrians on all aspects of helmet safety, by hosting a monumental giveaway. Lucky equestrians could win one of 28 helmets, a Charles Owen Body Protector, Tipperary Body Protector, or an iPad Mini.

“In recognition of our four-year anniversary we wanted to do something really special to thank the many equestrians who have supported the Riders4Helmets campaign over the years,” said Lyndsey White, Riders4Helmets founder. “The campaign has grown bigger than we ever could have imagined, and we are proud to know that it has made a difference in the lives of many people around the globe.”

The helmet giveaway is open to legal residents of the USA and Canada, while the iPad Mini giveaway is global and open to equestrians in any country. Equestrians may register for the giveaway by visiting www.riders4helmets.com/register-for-giveaway/. The registration closes midnight EDT on Sunday, May 24, 2014.

“We are sincerely grateful to the sponsors of both the helmet and iPad giveaway”, said Chad Mendell, Riders4Helmets. “Without the support of generous sponsors, Riders4Helmets would not be able to offer these amazing prizes and provide the free safety education that we do.”

The iPad Mini giveaway is sponsored by: Riders4Helmets. The helmet and body protector giveaway is kindly sponsored by: Troxel, Charles Owen, Tipperary, Ovation, and One K.

Giveaway winners will be selected at random and announced on Riders4Helmets.com on Tuesday, May 26, 2014. Official giveaway rules can be found at: www.riders4helmets.com/official-rules/

The Riders4Helmets campaign has rapidly gained the support of equestrians around the globe. More than 700 equestrian retailers globally participated in International Helmet Awareness Day in 2013 and plans are already in the works for International Helmet Awareness Day 2014.

Riders4Helmets was founded in early 2010 after Olympic dressage rider Courtney King Dye was seriously injured in a riding accident. King Dye, who remained in a coma for a month following her accident, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and is still undergoing rehabilitation.

  1. Entered! Thanks for making me aware of this giveaway. I ALWAYS wear a helmet when riding – if you don’t have your brain, you have nothing.

  2. I firmly agree with wearing a helmet while riding. Safety first ensures future rides. You wouldn’t want to go on a roller coaster without a seat belt would you???

  3. I agree with helmets they keep you protected and safe your life I know mine procted me when I got bucked off my old horse so I strongly recommend using a helmet they will protect you

  4. Never wore a helmet as a child but I realize how important they are. I promised my children and my grandchildren I would always wear a helmet when I ride so they would wear one too.

  5. I am a firm beleiver in helmets, my 2 daughters and i neverget on a horse without one. My oldest daughter has actually had 2 falls where she cracked her helmet, and was fine thanks to her helmet!!

  6. Never had a helment, althought I know that I should wear one…If I cant win one, well have to go out and buy one… In your older years, need to protect all of your body parts!!!

  7. Great article that I personally support, as I use go teach and manage a 4-H program and the use of a helmet and body protection is more important to use with equine activities than almost all other sports. I support You!!!!!

  8. My all-time motto…EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED.
UNLESS you can read your mounts mind 24-7-365, the ONLY WAY you can give your ONE AND ONLY, GOD GIVEN BRAIN, all the possible protection is to wear a helmet while around your horses. One time, one accident, can change not only your life forever….but your entire family.
A TBI can be with you for life….or worse.
    WHY TAKE A CHANCE ?????S
