Welcome to Horse Illustrated’s weekly installment of the My Right Horse Adoptable Horse of the Week, offered in partnership with The Right Horse. Patina is this week’s adoptable horse. Check back weekly for a new featured horse so you can find your #righthorse.
Organization: Refuge Ranch Ministries
Patina is an absolutely stunning mare with the potential to do AMAZING things— from pony club to western dressage—she could do it all! She raced in Texas until she was 4 or 5 years old and then was restarted as a barrel horse in Minnesota. Before she landed at Refuge Ranch Ministries, she was left sitting for a couple of years. She’s a sweet and sensitive Thoroughbred who will do best with a thoughtful, calm rider. She has never done anything naughty and appreciates being allowed to think about the “ask” from her handler so she can fully commit. She is a true people pleaser! Patina was recently restarted under western tack and has been trailered for vetting, had routine groundwork sessions, and was exposed to cattle. Could she be your #righthorse?
