Get to Know Adoptable Horse Morena

Morena is one of three horses seized in the field by the Humane Society of Venture County’s Humane Officers as part of an abuse and neglect case in mid-August 2022. She is super sweet and friendly with people but very selective about who her neighbor is in the barn. Morena is known to the staff as their sassy boss mare and they imagine she would keep that reputation in a pasture environment. However, she could get along with passive horses.

Morena is broke to ride, though she may need a refresher. She is barefoot and has been saddled. The Humane Society thinks she would make a great trail horse and could even be ridden by kids if they are experienced riders.
