Welcome to Horse Illustrated’s weekly installment of the Right Horse Adoptable Horse of the Week, offered in partnership with the ASPCA’s Right Horse program. This week’s adoptable horse is SH Admiral Blacklaw! Check back weekly for a new featured horse so you can find your Right Horse.
Adoptable Horse: SH Admiral Blacklaw, a 6-year-old 15.1hh American Saddlebred gelding
Organization: The American Saddlebred Legacy Foundation, Inc., Eminence, Ky.
SH Admiral Blacklaw (Dylan’s Desert Admiral x Miss Hellcat) is as sweet as the day is long. He impresses in every way and in every day. He is quiet, kind, willing, and smart. He has a personality you can’t beat and is full of potential.
“Admiral” is now able to be handled easily and, as a quick learner, he is ready to start training for groundwork and under saddle. He is going to make a phenomenal partner and likely could be a great horse for a beginner, kid or lessons one day soon with the right training. While he may be smaller in size, he makes up for it with his heart and mind. Price is negotiable to the right home.
