Welcome to Horse Illustrated’s weekly installment of the Right Horse Adoptable Horse of the Week, offered in partnership with the ASPCA’s Right Horse program. This week’s adoptable horse is Emma! Check back weekly for a new featured horse so you can find your Right Horse.
Adoptable Horse: Emma, a 14-year-old 15.0hh American Quarter Horse mare
Organization: Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation, Inc., Palm City, Fla.
Meet this week’s adoptable horse, Emma!
Emma was surrendered to Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation, Inc. (ERAF) with her daughter Lucy. She was never halter broken and, although she was treated kindly, Emma had mostly been unhandled. Her motherly disposition has her well-loved by all her pasture mates. Emma prefers a quiet handler with a soft approach. With patience, Emma holds the potential to become a nice riding horse. ERAF believes she would be best suited for English or Western pleasure riding, or trail riding. With the right training, she may one day also be suitable for competition.
This beautiful bay roan mare’s adoption fee is $1,500. She is located in Palm City, Fla.
