Road to the Horse 2020 is packed with talent! The complete lineup of championship competitors and Wild Cards have been announced, and fans couldn’t be more excited. A perfect blend of fresh faces and veteran competitors will enter the Road to the Horse round pen in 2020, and just as impressive is the entertainment lineup for the event featuring celebrities such as Booger Brown, Dan James and Bobby Kerr. Back by popular demand, the Young Guns 4-H Drill Team will now join the entertainer schedule at this year’s event, which is scheduled for March 19-22 at the Kentucky Horse Park.
“The Young Guns 4-H Drill Team performed at Road to the Horse in 2016 and 2017, and we’re excited to extend an invitation to the team in 2020,” states Western Horseman Publisher Ernie King. “Watching the horsemanship and showmanship of this young team is such a privilege. It’s our pleasure to provide these young riders a platform to showcase their talent and hard work at Road to the Horse 2020.”
Founded in 1999, the Young Guns Equestrian Drill Team is a group of 4-H equestrians ranging from age 9 to 18, and 4-H alumnae. The group has earned numerous titles, including 10 state titles, seven reserve state titles, and three national titles. The team has performed at prestigious events such as Equine Affair, Michigan Horse Fair, Southern Equine Expo and BreyerFest.
“Exciting and fearless, the Young Guns are ready to rock Road to the Horse with their daring crosses and thrilling speed. Our team is honored to be invited back to this world-renowned colt starting competition,” says Young Guns 4-H Drill Team Director Joyce Voet. “We’re so excited to be able to ride alongside such talented horsemen and horsewomen at Road to the Horse 2020.”
The three championship competitors that have been selected are Wade Black, Craig Cameron, and Ken McNabb. The Wild Card competition will feature three of the nation’s best up and coming colt starters and include Wylene Davis, Cole Cameron and Craig Moore.
