Video: Dressage exercises for a horse that won’t go forward

Grand Prix dressage rider and trainer Reese Koffler-Stanfield instructs student Ellen Wall on her Dutch Warmblood gelding, Tvauri. Reese has Ellen start with a light aid to ask Tvauri to move forward; if he doesn’t respond instantly, Ellen must use a stronger aid to get the response she wants. Reese has Ellen repeat this exercise until Tvauri becomes sharper to Ellen’s light aids to go forward.
