A little magazine called Horse Illustrated launched out of the Stallion Production, Inc. offices
in California. The magazine aimed to reach all horse owners and enthusiasts,
regardless of their breed or discipline affiliations. Bruce Davidson is shown above at the 2009 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, 33 years after winning team gold at the Montreal Olympics. Photo: Leslie Potter The American eventing team, with riders Edmund Coffin,
Michael Plumb, Bruce Davidson and Mary Anne Tauskey, won gold at the Montreal
Olympics. Coffin and Plumb won individual gold and silver, respectively. The U.S. dressage
team of Hilda Gurney, Dorothy Morkis and Edith Master took home team bronze. West Germany was victorious in team dressage,
while Christine Stuckelberger of Switzerland won the individual
title. West Germany
also saw gold thanks to Alwin Schockemohle in the individual show jumping. France
earned the team show jumping gold.
