The 124th National Horse Show and Family Festival, held at the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club in Wellington, Fla. begins today. The show, which runs Dec. 5-9, features some of the best hunter, jumper and dressage horses and riders in the country.
The 124th National Horse Show competition highlights include:
-The $5,000 Palm Beach Post National Welcome Stake, CSI (Dec. 5)
– The $15,000 NHS Speed Classic, CSI (Dec. 6)
– The Zada Enterprises, LLC 6th Annual Dressage at the National (Dec. 7-9)
– The $25,000 NHS Jumper Classic for the Rolex/USEF National Show Jumping Championship, presented by Equine Motorcoach, CSI (Dec. 7- evening competition)
– The $25,000 National Horse Show Hunter Championship (Dec. 8)
– The $10,000 NHS Speed Stake, CSI (Dec. 8)
– The $15,000 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Series Junior and Amateur-Owner Jumper National Finals (Dec. 9)
– The $80,000 Young Jumper Championships® International Finals (Dec. 9)

I love whatching horses jump. I think that they look so beautiful flying through the air like they have wings. I have always been afraid of whatching the riders though because everytime the horse goes over they look like they are going to come off from them. There is only one thing that I really don’t like about jumping though that is when the horse gets hurt plus sometimes the rider pushes them to hard. I am not saying that all riders do just some of them do..
