American Youth Horse Council Symposium Set

The American Youth Horse Council (AYHC) is inviting all youth horse enthusiasts to join in celebrating the 30th annual National Youth Horse Leaders Symposium March 9-11, 2007 in Denver, Colo.  The symposium will be held in conjunction with the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo, so there will be plenty of opportunities for young attendees to learn about horses and horsemanship and become more inspired and motivated about their involvement with the horse industry.

The opening session will feature a keynote from Jeff Goodwin of Colorado State University titled “Catch the Can Do Attitude.” For competitive riders, Karen Waite of Michigan State University will present a session that will answer the question “What Type of Competitor are you?” Tom Lenz, DVM, is one of several equine veterinarians participating, and as a representative of the American Association of Equine Practitioners he will offer his expertise on the important industry topic “The Unwanted Horse.” The keynote address at the Youth Leaders Celebration Awards Banquet will be given by Marvin Witt of the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo. Rick Lamb, radio host, will address symposium participants at the closing breakfast. Roundtable discussions, educational booths and day trips are also part of the festivities. A full schedule is available at www.ayhc.com. While visiting the website, you can also download a registration form and find more information through an email link to AYHC executive director Cindy Schonoltz.
