Why do people even live there if there are so many fires there? I mean, it isn't worth sacrificing you or your horse's life over some nice views of the woods.
Poor horses!!! I wish we could do something about it. That just gave me a great Idea!!!!!! We could take the horse that need our help and save them. All the horses would be okay. Please consider this idea! I think its great!!!!
People live there because it's their home. And there really are not woods in that area. Southern California is basically desert with shrubs and brush for vegetation. The fires usually aren't this bad, but there's been a drought lately and everything has been drying out. It rains a little in the Winter, everything gets green, then it doesn't rain again and everything dies and stays dead. Then it gets really dry.
I have an approx 1/2 or 1/3 acre paddock in Littlerock in the Antelope Valley that could be used in the horse emergency. No shelter or hot wire, just a fenced area, but in a pinch it could do. call me at 661-208-0813
