  • The whole North Dakota slaughterhouse thing is not right! The reason why the "horse economy" is suffering IS NOT because of the closing of the slaughterhouses. Have you seen our "normal economy?" People are losing their jobs, so then they are unable to pay for their horse(s), so then they try to sell them, but they can't because either nobody wants it (picky people prefer 1 breed to another) or no-one can afford it. Horses have alway been a part of America and resemble freedom & peace. Horses can be retrained, such as Thoroughbreds make excellent jumpers, dressage horses, eventers, barrel racing, etc. Other breeds can be retrained for therapeutic horsemanship, public trail rides, or lesson horses. Slaughter is NOT humane and horses do not deserve to be murdered.
