Lexington Celebrates 100 Days Until the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games

On June 17, the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games will commemorate 100 Days to the opening ceremonies of the world’s most prestigious equestrian event with a celebration in downtown Lexington, Ky., USA. Global animal health and nutrition leader and title sponsor Alltech will be produced a live video stream of the festivities here on horseillustrated.com and at www.alltech.com from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST. Watch a replay of the video at the bottom of this article.

In celebration of the final countdown, Lexington’s Fifth Third Pavilion at Cheapside Park will be transformed into a preview of things to come from September 25-October 10, 2010, when the world championships in eight equestrian sports are contested at the Kentucky Horse Park. Festivities are planned throughout the entire day, including “A Taste of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games” featuring live music and a culinary preview of the Games. It will be complemented by “A Showcase of Destinations” offering a sneak peek at the four major destinations points available to all Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games ticket holders.

The live video stream will begin at 11 a.m. June 17 on www.alltech.com with the premiere of “Kentucky Awaits,” the newest promotional video. It will culminate with the noon announcement of the Alltech Fortnight Festival entertainment line-up for the 16 nights of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

Recorded video of the broadcast will be made available for on-demand viewing on www.alltech.com beginning at 5 p.m. EST.

“Kentucky is ready to welcome the world,” said Dr. Pearse Lyons, president and founder of Alltech. “We hope our friends from Canada to Colombia and from Russia to Nepal will catch a glimpse of the excitement in Lexington now as we move into the double-digit countdown to the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games’ arrival.”

After viewing the broadcast on www.alltech.com on June 17, visitors can also check out Alltech’s new Games microsite set to go live that day. The new microsite will enable guests to preview the Alltech Experience Pavilion to be on the grounds of the Games via an interactive map as well as explore the sights, sounds, tastes, and other experiences of the Games through a variety of dynamic media.

The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010™ will define a new chapter in the history of the World Equestrian Games as the first time the Games have been held outside of Europe and the first time that all competition events will be held at one location – the 1,200 acre Kentucky Horse Park.  The 16-day competition involving more than 800 riding competitors and 800 horses from 60 countries is expected to be attended by as many as 600,000 spectators and viewed on television by an international audience exceeding 460 million people.
