The National Cutting Horse Association’s most widely-anticipated event of the year, the 2010 Borden Milk/NCHA World Championship Futurity, is set to begin its 21-day run on Nov. 21, boasting nearly 1,400 entries and a purse edging $4 million.

The annual NCHA Triple Crown series begins with the Borden Milk Futurity and continues with the XTO Energy Super Stakes in April, followed by the Great American Insurance Summer Cutting Spectacular in July. All three events are held at Will Rogers Equestrian Center in Fort Worth, Texas.

Along with the Futurity cutting competition, there will be numerous events at the show, including the following:

Mercuria Energy/NCHA World Championship Finals
This year’s $200,000-added Mercuria/NCHA World Finals will once again be held in conjunction with the Borden Milk/NCHA Futurity. The format will feature the Top 15 Open horses and Top 15 Non-Pro riders from the 2010 point year in a riveting competition for a world championship title. Go-round action will take place in the Watt Arena at the Will Rogers Memorial Center, beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26, Wednesday, Nov. 27, and Thursday, Dec. 2 as well as 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4. Admission is free.

Best of the West Premier Shopping Experience, presented by Coors Light
The Best of the West Premier Shopping Experience presented by Coors Light opens Nov. 21 in the Amon G. Carter Exhibit Hall. This exhibit features over 150 merchants offering clothing, art, tack, jewelry, furniture and more.

Admission is always free and it will be open daily from 9 a.m. through 6 p.m. during go-rounds and will remain open with extended hours through the semi-finals and finals performances.

Cowboy Santa will be taking Christmas lists on Nov. 26 and 28 from 1 to 4 p.m., Nov. 27 from 2-5 p.m., Dec. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m., Dec. 4 from 2-5 p.m., Dec. 5 from 1-4 p.m., and Dec. 11 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Bar G Feedyard $250,000 “Cut Your Cattle” Challenge
Visit any of NCHA’s sponsors’ booths, and pick up a game card for Bar G Feedyard’s “Cut Your Cattle” Challenge. This lottery-type contest only requires that entrants pick three of the 36 cattle on the card. Five finalists will be selected, and the final drawing will be held in the coliseum at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 11. If you’re a finalist and your card matches the “master” card, you win $250,000! Official rules will be available at Bar G Feedyard’s booth in the exhibit hall.

Western Bloodstock Horse Sales
Western Bloodstock will host cutting horse sales beginning on Friday, Dec. 3 and continuing through the finals on Saturday, Dec. 11 (excluding Dec. 5-6). On Saturday, Dec. 11, XTO Energy’s Million Dollar Stallion Parade, an event that showcases many of the top cutting horse sires in the industry, will begin at 8:00 a.m. Stop by Super Stallion Avenue after the parade to have a look at the featured stallions. Visitors are welcome to walk through the barn at the Watt to have a closer look at the stallions.

Celebrity Cutting
The 16th Annual Celebrity Cutting presented by the Careity Foundation will be held Friday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. at Will Rogers Coliseum. This year’s lineup includes Joe Nichols, Randy Travis, Bob Kingsley and more. Charles Goodnight Gala
The 19th Annual Charles Goodnight Gala honoring Billy and Pam Minick and introducing the NCHA Hall of Fame inductees, will be held at The Renaissance-Worthington Hotel at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010.
