The goal of this year’s colloquium was to foster collaborative efforts between different groups to work toward shared goals. The Brooke, a UK-based charity dedicated to helping working equines and their owners in impoverished areas of the world, is the driving force behind the colloquium.

Fatastic! Although I realize that they need these animals to work they should not OVERWORK them. Maybe if they don't overwork them they will perhaps live longer, thus giving them more years of work.
I'm glad that there are people trying to fix this...they should go to Italy too because when I went on vacation there, the horses they had pulling carts were so skinny...and it was the summer and they didn't have water :-(
