Nominate your favorite equestrian for USEF honors

It’s time for the USEF Lifetime Achievement Award and Pegasus Medal of Honor Award nominations, and the deadline to submit them will be upon us soon. Any current USEF Member may submit nominations, but they need to be received by the USEF on or before Monday, September 23rd.



The recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented with the Jimmy A. Williams trophy at the 2014 USEF Annual Meeting. This award recognizes the horseman or woman whose lifetime experience and accomplishments exemplify uncommon devotion to the sport of competition with horses whose equestrian career and horsemanship have continually elevated the sport’s excellence. The nominee must be living and retired from actively competing in equestrian sport.

Last year’s Jimmy A. Williams trophy was awarded to Joe Fargis.

The recipient(s) of the Pegasus Medal of Honor Award will be presented with the Gold Pegasus Medal at the 2014 USEF Annual Meeting. This award recognizes individuals who have exhibited outstanding services to horses and the sport, and who, through their dedication, have attracted people to the sport and contributed to horse sport by advancing its popularity. The nominee must be living and be retired from actively competing in equestrian sport.

Linda Zang received the 2012 Pegasus Medal of Honor Award at the 2013 USEF Annual Meeting.

Both awards will be presented during the 2014 Pegasus Awards Dinner on Friday, January 10th and broadcast live at www.usefnetwork.com.

Nominations can be submitted in writing or via email and must include the nominee’s name; city and state of residence; discipline(s) and/or breed(s); your reason for suggesting him/her; accomplishments, accolades, and any other information pertinent to any involvement in the horse industry. Please also include your name, mailing address, email address, and daytime telephone number so the Federation may contact you for any additional details.
