I did a college report on this subject (a few years ago, so my information maybe outdated), but for every 100 racing foals born, only "2" made it to the race track.....where do the other 98 young horses end up???
I love these programs and think they are doing great work. I have been looking into adopting a retired race horse to start back into Hunter/Jumper. I have visited New Vocations and just love everything about them! Keep up the good work...Born to Race, Recycled to Ride!
most ex-racehorses go to rescue ranches because their owners will leave them out in a pasture sell them for a lot of money or put them down i am talking about most of the ex-racehorses i have met on ex-racehorse i have met is the famous racehorses " Secretariat" his grandson and his owner starved him and he was abused so badly that if he was left alone about three more hours he would have been dead! most racehorses that were treated well become great pasture pals.
Hopefully, this program will work out for everyone. But, I do think, that to stop the over breeding is the first step.
