I agree, because if a horse is outside all the time, with his/her buddies, then have to be stabled, for whatever reason, they most certainly do not understand, why very thing has changed.
Reply to one of previous comments: We knew that management change increased risk of colic - we didn't know how and to what degree changes were occurring, hence this study, and we hope this will be the first step in identifying ways to reduce impact of changes. Sarah Freeman
Although I have to give some merit to this research I think that it is to vague and leaves too much room for interpreting "Pasture to Stable". I think the article should get more detailed in times spent between pasture and stabling. We they pastured for days then stabled for months? etc.
