So many good memories! It's been a while, but I've seen most of these. I just about wore out my VHS of "Miracle of the White Stallions."
So many good horse movies! War Horse, Secretariat, Phar Lap, Miracle of the White Stallions... too hard to choose. Horses add such a wonderful dimension to our lives.
In my opionion, Secretariat is the best movie of this century. But an old classic? Smoky with Fess Parker is the absolute best horse movie. I've watched both at least 100 times. Secretariat is a very uplifting movie but I must admit both movies make me cry even after all the times of watching!
No one mentioned "Gallant Bess," my favorite classic horse film! Interesting that the film echos your Sept. 2014 feature story (book review) of Sgt. Reckless. The film was made in 1946 and stared Marshal Thompson. Check it out if you get a chance.
