With less than 2,500 Grevy’s Zebras still living, it’s always exciting news to hear of the birth of a foal. The Denver Zoo has announced such a birth; a Grevy’s Zebra foal was born there on October 8. The foal, named Bosley, was born to Farasi and Punda. Punda is the only male in the herd at the zoo. The pairing came at the recommendation of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, according to ZooBorns, given that this species of zebra is on the endangered list.
Bosley is currently on exhibit at the zoo, so long as the weather is accommodating. In the meantime, take a look at this video the Denver Zoo posted of Bosley’s first steps: Can’t get enough Grevy’s zebras?
