Tonight HBO Sports will air Barbaro, a documentary that explores the life of the Kentucky Derby winning Thoroughbred. The presentation debuts three days before the Belmont Stakes, the final leg of racing’s Triple Crown.
With the cooperation of Barbaro’s owners, Roy and Gretchen Jackson, the documentary explores the many facets of the story behind the young horse, including the relationship between Barbaro’s trainer, Michael Matz, and the Jacksons.
Barbaro will air at 10 p.m. (ET/PT) on HBO. The executive producers of the documentary are Ross Greenburg and Rick Bernstein; producer, Margaret Grossi; story editor, Mary Carillo; written by Frank Deford; original music composed by Brian Keane; narrated by Liev Schreiber.
