Texas A&M is holding a job fair for future equine vets

If you’re a first through fourth year veterinary student, this job fair’s for you: On Jan. 19, 2008, the Texas A&M University Student Chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners will be hosting an annual job fair and student symposium lab at the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in College Station, Texas. Students from across the country are invited to hone their veterinary medical skills and hopefully find an externship or future job for after graduation.

What started four years ago, as a continuing education lab, has become a conference event with one of the largest job fairs for future equine veterinary practitioners. The conference includes labs such as palpation, abdominal exploratory surgery, emergency and critical care, radiology, dentistry, ophthalmology, lower-limb surgery and joint injection. The labs allow students a unique hands-on experience with various types of clinical training, especially for those students not yet in their fourth year.

The job fair allows students, particularly fourth year students, to interact with veterinary clinics, drug companies and other possible future employers to learn more about possible summer jobs, internships, externships and careers.
