If you want to go one hoof step beyond the bling that’s pervasive in the horse world, consider visiting www.fancyfurs.com. The site features products made just for the glamorous and stylish dog and horse.
“I really wanted to do something fun,” explains Stephanie Bell, president of the company. “Hollywood, fashion and celebrities have become such a popular part of our culture. I wanted to create stand-out items, so your dog or horse can live like a star, even if you can’t!”
There’s a new line of halters and bridles presented on the website or available through special order. In keeping with the glitzy theme, most of items are poshed-out in rich colors and bejeweled with faux gems. A customized halter is approximately $75, which isn’t much for the horse that already has everything.
Fancy Furs was started in 2000 and is based in Lexington, Ky.
“It’s a shame to live in the Horse Capital of the World and not have any fancy horse products, so that’s why I’ve expanded into the equine world,” Bell states.
