The Horses and Humans Research Foundation (HHRF) invites proposals to investigate the therapeutic effects of horses on humans. The Foundation’s broad research agenda includes basic research as well as clinical studies that will ultimately impact physical and mental health and the quality of life for people with disabilities who are involved with equine-assisted activities/therapies.
Grants are awarded on a competitive basis, taking into account scientific merit, scientific and clinical significance and relevance to areas designated by the Foundation. Preference will be given to investigators who have solid credentials and research experience and are associated with institutions located in the US or Canada. The average grant award is $50,000 for up to a one-year period. Interested researchers may contact the foundation for information on programs that provide equine-assisted activities/therapies for possible collaborations. Guidelines and application materials are available on the HHRF website at www.horsesandhumans.org.
