Looking for a horse expo? If you’re near the area, gear up for the 2007 Rocky Mountain Horse Expo Oct. 5-7 in Durango, Colo. This time around, the annual expo features both long-standing favorites and newcomers, all with bright ideas certain to draw a crowd of horse enthusiasts. However, don’t assume you’ll only be spending time at the expo. Once again, the expo shares the weekend with the Durango Cowboy Gathering, which celebrates the culture and heritage of the American cowboy and cowgirl through poetry, music and art. Why, by the end of the weekend you might just be in western lifestyle overload!
Featured at the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo are Julie Goodnight and Troy Rogers, who are among several clinicians presenting lessons on horsemanship. Also, Jim Heird will address a common dilemma in his session, “I’m Whispering, But My Horse Isn’t Listening.” Now, isn’t that a topic worth the price of admission?
