2007 USEF Saddle Seat Adult Amateur Medal Final

The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is reminding all adult equitation riders that there is still time to qualify for the 2007 USEF Saddle Seat Adult Amateur Medal Final, taking place Friday, July 13 during the Lexington Junior League Horse Show in Lexington, Ky.

All ribbon winners in qualifying USEF Saddle Seat Adult Amateur Medal classes held between June 29, 2006 and June 28, 2007 qualify to participate in the 2007 Medal Final. However, qualifying classes must have a minimum of two riders in order to fulfill the qualification requirement. Past final champions will now be allowed to compete again in this event due to a presidential modification that was granted for the 2007 competition year.

The following shows have tentatively scheduled qualifying classes for this national championship event: Indianapolis Charity,   Indianapolis, Ind., (May 30 – June 6); Germantown Charity, Germantown, Tenn., (June12-16); Tanbark Cavalcade of Roses, St. Paul, Minn., (June 27-30).

Other competitions can still easily add qualifying classes. Interested shows should contact Carrie Mortensen in the USEF’s Breeds Department at (859) 225-6986.

The 2007 champion will receive a hand-crafted USEF Leather Cabin Bag made by Freedman Harness of Canada. In addition, the champion will receive a cast resin sculpture by Patricia Crane. Champion and reserve champion riders will receive coolers and halters for their mounts and bouquets of roses to celebrate their wins.  The top 10 riders will be honored with championship ribbons while the traditional USEF medals are given to the top three riders.

Following the Medal Final, the USEF will host a luncheon reception in the Red Mile Clubhouse where all participants will be awarded with a commemorative gift package including a tote bag, T-shirt, hat, and other souvenirs. All trainers will also be honored at the reception and awarded thank you gifts.

For more information regarding this event, please contact Carrie Mortensen, Breeds & Western Director, at the USEF office by calling (859) 225-6986 or via e-mail at cmortensen@usef.org.
