With the 2008 competition season just beginning, the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is offering to help cover show costs for various USEF breed competitions through its Outreach Grant program.
The program assists financially challenged breed competitions that meet the grant requirements and are approved by the USEF. The grants are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so applications should be submitted as soon as possible. The maximum grant is $1,000 per competition and the funds must be used for specific expenses, such as EMT’s, veterinarians, stewards, insurance, natural disasters and emergency officials.
Each grant request will be evaluated based on when it was received and on the proposed use of funds, which must be noted on the application along with the submission of the previous year’s financial statement. Each application will be reviewed by the USEF staff and the final decision for the grant approval will be made by the USEF Executive Office.
The Outreach Grant Program criteria and application are available on the USEF website here >>
For more information about this program, contact Karen Homer-Brown, USEF’s managing director, National Affiliates, at (859) 225-6958 or via email at khbrown@usef.org.
