  • The College of Southern Idaho has an IHSA English and IHSA Western team as well as the rodeo team. The school has an excellent equine program!

  • There is also Miles Community College in Montana that offers associate degrees in equine studies.

  • Honestly where will these degrees really get someone? I love horses but these degrees are B.S. !

  • A degree in Equine Science will prepare you to work at a horse rescue ranch, or as a large animal vet assistant, or a riding instructor, or horse trainer, or other horse-related careers.

  • Oklahoma Baptist University, a Christian liberal arts university is now offering an Equine Minor. This minor will also prepare those seeking certification as Riding Instructors, Instructors for Riders with Disabilities, Camp Wranglers, Equine Managers. Additionally OBU has been offering Recreational Horsemanship for those needing a physical education credit who want to learn about horses and how to handle and ride them. For additional information contact: charla.story@okbu.edu

  • Awesome resource! However, it appears Harford College in Maryland no longer offers an Equine degree program. Also, Saint Mary of the Woods College, Terre Haute, Indiana should be added to the list! Many programs available there!
