I found it very helpful and I am going out now to try some of these suggestions on my mare who does not like leaving the other horses. I don't have anyone to ride with so until I do I will use what I can from this article and I will let you know how it goes. Thank you!!!
Wow!! This information is exactly what I needed. I am not wanting to trail ride but rather trying to train a miniature to relax around those spooky things. This was most helpful to me.
My Arabian use to be afraid of cows he met out on the trail. We conquered this fear by putting him in a round pen while cows walked around the round pen. In just three days, he accepted the cows and were finally to ride him again on the trail amongst cows.
This is a great article! Thanks Sarah for writing it. If I may be so bold, I have helped many equestrians with fear and confidence issues. In fact, my new website is all about de-spoooking the rider so they can really enjoy their trail rides and other horsey activities. Check it out! http://de-spookyou.com
