As Cindy's sister, Jill, and the owner of the aforementioned runaway Topper, I can attest that this is all true as presented and that we had a great time at "the river." Next time we go somewhere, however, the gate will be securely closed before Toppy-Pop steps outside his house. LOL.
Cindy didn't mention that our driveway is 400 feet to the Street, so Topper had the distance to get up speed. Reminds me of years ago when Baba Yaga got loose on the race track in Santa Rosa and had the horse show crowd cheering him on.
See? This really is an interactive blog! My own father came on here and posted a comment, LOL! Yes, the driveway from the gate to the street at my parents' house is indeed a good distance. Just enough for Topper to hit full stride. The escapade does make me recall the time my sister's great old hunter, Baba Yaga (a former race horse), got loose at an A-rated horse show, where the arenas were temporarily constructed on and around a race track. It was quite a display!
