I fully agree about the crystals. Some people think that it'll give you extra credit in the classes when it just gives your judge an impounding headache! I prefer to be rather traditional when it comes to equestrian attire and tack. Maybe with a little silver, but still modest and clean.
Alas ... I am not yet out of the silvery bling phase and am not above crystals on a halter. Although given that my horse insists on chewing on his reins, never on the reins!
I MUST ADMIT, WHEN I WAS RIDING WALLY YESTERDAY I CAME ACROSS A GAL ON A PRETTY BLACK MARE. THE HORSE WAS WEARING A TOTALLY BLINGED OUT (WITH CRYSTALS) HEADSTALL AND IT DID LOOK... PRETTY. FOR A BRIEF MOMENT I WAS MESMERIZED. BUT I CONTROLLED MYSELF AND THE MOMENT PASSED.
