LOVE the photos -- and commentary. And how the judge is in the ring with you in Sweetheart's picture. But I have to point out that your math is a bit off: 1971 was almost **40** years ago, not 30, LOL. Now how does THAT make you feel?!?!
HA! THANKS A LOT FOR POINTING THAT OUT, SKYLAR! I TRY TO CONSOLE MYSELF BY THE FACT THAT I WAS ONLY A "KID" IN THOSE EARLY PHOTOS. YET I ADMIT THAT SOMETIMES I DO TEND TO MAGICALLY SUBTRACT A FEW YEARS.... BUT AT LEAST I CAN DOCUMENT ALL THE TIME I'VE BEEN RIDING. AND OH MY LORD, THAT'S A LOT OF RIDING! NO WONDER I FEEL CREAKY SOMETIMES WHEN I TRY TO CLIMB ONTO WALLY'S BACK.
Wow have the styles ever changed! Though you stayed current to all the trends! Which of those horses was your favorite to ride? Thanks for sharing.
Cindy, I STILL have my Marlborough boots! Wouldn't wear them anywhere the fashion police might catch me, but they're still "serviceably sound."
I THINK ANY PAIR OF STILL USEABLE MARLBOROUGH BOOTS BELONG IN A MUSEUM. OR BRONZED AS AN ITEM OF MEMORABILIA! HMMMM.... MY FAVORITE HORSE THAT I RODE OUT OF A HUGE BUNCH OF HORSES.... THAT'S TOUGH. THE MOST CONSISTENT, DEPENDABLE, SAFE, "FUN" HORSE WAS WITHOUT A DOUBT MY SISTER'S BIG BAY GELDING, BABA YAGA. BUT EACH HORSE DEFINITELY TAUGHT ME SOMETHING, EVEN IF IT WAS THAT I REALLY DIDN'T WANT TO HAVE TO SHOW IT EVER, EVER AGAIN! MAYBE LOOKING BACK AT ALL THOSE HORSES WOULD BE A GREAT TOPIC FOR ANOTHER BLOG POST. THANKS FOR THE IDEA! BUT I'LL HAVE TO HAVE A BOX OF KLEENEX HANDY WHEN I WRITE IT.
