Welcome to Horse Illustrated’s weekly installment of the My Right Horse Adoptable Horse of the Week, offered in partnership with The Right Horse. Nova is this week’s adoptable horse. Check back weekly for a new featured horse so you can find your #righthorse.

Horse: Nova, an 18-year-old 13.3-hand buckskin Paso Fino mare in Palm City, Fla.
Organization: Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation

If Nova was a character on the popular 1980s sitcom “The Golden Girls,” she would be Sophia with a side of Blanche. She is a self-assured mare who enjoys her meals, being groomed, and attended to. Nova has done well under saddle but will need a skilled rider to continue her training. With her confidence and the right training, Nova has the potential to be a nice trail horse. She is an excellent companion horse to her pasture buddy, Lilly, and is well-suited and perfectly happy to be a pasture pal. Nova would do best with someone who is an experienced rider/handler. Is she your #righthorse?
