My Dolly needs one of those muzzles. She is shorter and does gain weight just by "looking" at the pastures.
I have tried Best Friend muzzles on my 7 year old Rocky and he manages to remove them several times in a 12 hr. period. His body score is a 7. I have adapted his muzzle so as to be even more difficult to take off and he manages to get it off within 20 minutes. Any suggestions? I don't know what else to try.
Great advice. I have 2 horses that wear grazing muzzles and are turned out 24/7. My quarter-pony foundered due to overweight issues and this has been a great tool to limit food and allow exercise out in the pasture with the other horses. I do give him a very small flake of hay each day. He doesn't mind wearing it because he knows he will get turned out.
