The Right Horse Initiative, a program of the ASPCA, recently announced the 2021 recipients of The Right Horse Initiative’s Good People for Good Horses Awards. The Right Horse Initiative acknowledges that it takes a network of support to help each horse find a wonderful home and strongly believes that great work deserves to be celebrated. The second annual Good People for Good Horses Awards recognizes nine hardworking members of the equine community who dedicate their time and talents to helping horses in transition.
The winners are:

◆ Farrier: Trey Rogers, Texas
◆ Trainer: Jamie Jennings, Oklahoma
◆ Veterinarian (Western Region): Dr. Stacy Whitton, Colorado
◆ Veterinarian (Eastern Region): Dr. Shannon Reed, Ohio
◆ Veterinarian (Central Region): Dr. Trish Tersteeg, Texas
◆ Volunteer: Steve Casselman, California
◆ “Wild Card”: Judy and Gary Bush, Oklahoma
“The Good People for Good Horses Awards is a welcome opportunity to acknowledge the veterinarians, trainers, farriers, volunteers and community members working tirelessly to care for horses in need and helping them find loving homes,” said Christie Schulte Kappert, Program Director of The Right Horse Initiative. “Despite a challenging year, these individuals continue to step up for horses in transition and create incredible impact on the success of equine adoption efforts across the country.”
