Get to Know Adoptable Horse Caramore

Caramore is a gorgeous 2007 Kentucky-bred registered Thoroughbred mare who is super lovable and just waiting for someone to give her a great home with all the attention she so obviously loves and deserves. This gal only raced one time as a 4-year old, placing fourth and earning $1,925 in her short career. Since then, she’s served as a broodmare (21Caramore, also seeking a home, is her last foal).

Caramore’s owners have decided to retire her as a broodmare and are now hoping to find her a home with someone who wants her as a companion, or possibly even a training project.

This gal has a mush of a personality and really does seem to love getting fussed over. She stood well in-hand while she was curried and brushed, picked up all four hooves, got burrs out of her forelock and even let them lift up her lip several times to read her tattoo. Not much seemed to faze her and she seems to have a wonderful temperament. The program has listed her as needing an intermediate handler, simply because she hasn’t had much done with her. However, her owner says she’s nice to work around and the program could see her mellowing even more with regular handling and consistent routine.

The last time Caramore had anyone on her back was at her last race in 2011. She appears to be healthy and sound, so she’d probably make an excellent restart project for someone with experience or a trainer. That being said, she’d also make a wonderful companion and her owner mentioned she’d probably be a great babysitter, as she did excel as a mom.

Caramore behaves well for the vet and farrier, is typically neutral to submissive in the herd and loads well. She lives outside 24/7, is barefoot, an easy keeper on grass and does not require blanketing in the winter. She does crib, but it is primarily during feed time. Caramore is up to date on shots and farrier.
