Get to Know Adoptable Horse Yumi

Yumi is an older mare who came to Days End Horse Farm Rescue (DEHFR) in 2022 as a neglect case seizure facilitated by the ASPCA. She spent the later part of her career at a public trail riding facility, but Yumi is now looking for a non-riding retirement home. She is pasture sound, but has known arthritis in both front feet. While she may need additional support down the road, she is currently managed very simply and does not require any daily medications.

Yumi is living outside comfortably 24/7 and gets along well with other horses. She would make a great companion for any herd and has been out with both mares/geldings. Yumi is handled every day and comes in for grooming by volunteers/staff. She stands quietly for the vet and farrier, so much so that DEHFR’s rehabilitation interns have been learning different standing bandages/wraps and they practice on her.
