Seventeen equestrian vaulters from across nation arrive in the San Francisco Bay area this weekend, Jan. 20 – 21, for a vaulting high performance training session conducted by the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF). The participants are among the finest vaulters in the country and are invited to participate by the USEF.
The clinicians for this training session include current Women’s Individual World Champion Megan Benjamin, who earned both the individual gold medal and a silver team medal at the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany; Riekes Center instructor Stacey Burnett; USEF’s Vaulting Coach of the Year Emma Seely, who coached Benjamin and the team silver medalists in Aachen; former national champion Samantha Smith; and Woodside Vaulter’s head coach Isabelle Parker.
Participants will have sessions on jumping/landing, nutrition, freestyle design and compulsory/gymnastics drills. Vaulters will also be given a fitness exam to set a baseline for their fitness.
Auditors are welcome at a fee of $20/day.
