Arabian HorseSince 1993, young Arabian horse exhibitors in the United States have had their own show where they compete for national titles in a wide variety of disciplines. This year, Arabian Youth Nationals is celebrating its 10-year anniversary at Expo New Mexico in Albuquerque.

Youth exhibitors can compete with their Arabians and half-Arabians in the traditional show ring disciplines including western, hunt seat, driving and saddle seat classes as well as the Arabian disciplines of show hack and native costume. Youth Nationals showcases the breed’s versatility with reining, working cow, dressage and working hunter divisions.

Outside of the show ring, exhibitors can audit or participate in free clinics with noted trainers, compete in the stall decorating contest or enter the hippology and judging contests. Other fun activities include the annual barn dog races, a dog costume class and the ongoing trade fair.

Admission to the show is free for spectators. For those outside the Albuquerque area, the show is available for live streaming at www.equinevideo.net. Registration is required for viewing, but is available for free.
