The United States Equestrian Federation is pleased to welcome USA Reining as its newest USEF International Discipline Association. On Monday, May 21, 2012, the USEF Executive Committee reviewed and accepted unanimously the application submitted by USA Reining to be the FEI Affiliate for reining.

USA Reining seeks to foster the sport of reining in the U.S. and provide a pipeline for athletes to progress from national level competition and into FEI and international competition. It is also the goal of the organization to represent its members as a fully compliant USEF Recognized Affiliate for the sport.

“We are thrilled that USA Reining was approved as the newest affiliate of the United States Equestrian Federation. USA Reining was established in order to provide a direct pipeline for athletes in the sport to the high performance level and to be able to compete there successfully on behalf of the U.S.” Said USA Reining President, Pete Kyle, “Working with as many stakeholders as possible in the sport of reining, we look forward to finding ways to continue the success our U.S. reining athletes have enjoyed on the international stage.”

Reining is one of the most exciting and fastest growing equestrian sports in the United States. In recent years, U.S. reiners have been collecting top placings in many of the most prestigious competitions throughout the world. Including the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games where the U.S. secured Team Gold as well Individual Gold and Silver medals.

“We are very excited to welcome USA Reining as an International Discipline Association,” said USEF CEO John Long. “We will all look to partner together to bring continued success to reining in this country and abroad.”
