Farnam Horse Products, Grooming Products Division, presented a new award at the 2007 Shetland Pony Congress held last month in Gifford, Ill. The Vetrolin Grooming Award was presented to the pony “that outshined all the others,” according to Farnam’s Territory Manager, John Sheary.  The 2007 winner of the Vetrolin Grooming Award was Buckeye WCT Classical Story owned by Pamela and Scott Queer of Latrobe, Penn.

“Classical Story was so beautifully turned out from the tip of his ears to his hooves,” says Mariniello, who selected the pony from a dozen runners-up that she identified during the Shetland Pony Congress.

Farnam’s Platform Feed division has been a strong supporter of the American Shetland Pony Club (ASPC) since Farnam launched their Platform Miniature Horse and Pony Feed in 2006.  In 2007, Platform became the title sponsor for the Shetland Pony Congress.

This year, the 2007 Shetland Pony Congress awarded more than 300 National Championships titles to Shetland Ponies from all over the United States.

“We had a very good turnout despite soaring gas prices and high temperatures,” says Lenard Davenport, show manager.  Highlights from the show will be aired on RFD-TV at 4 p.m. EST Oct. 14.
